Here are some of the frequently asked questions that we recieve from parents and people interested in enrolling their children into Belmont School. How many school visits does a New Entrant have before starting school?

They have 3 morning visits. Each visit starting at 8:50am with the finishing time extended a little longer with each visit.

How much homework does a student have each day?

Junior - Usually have a reading book each day - suited to the child's reading level.
Middle - Reading, basic facts and spelling.
Senior - Varied weekly homework sheets numeracy, literacy, writing and some topic work.

Does the school have an 'After School Care Programme'?

Yes we do. This is known as 'YMCA Oscar'. We aim to meet the recreational and social development needs of children in a safe and caring environment.
Casual - $ 19.00 / Regulars - $ 14.00.

How often can children buy their lunch?

Every day: Monday - Friday (except Thursday) Kelson Dairy Orders / Thursday Wholly Bagel Orders

Can you purchase stationery from the school?

We stock a small range of stationery. Most exercise books, etc can be purchased cheaper from places like 'Office Max' or 'Whitcoulls'. Check out OfficeMax www.myschool.co.nz to buy online.

What are the school fees?

One child = $150 per year plus $5 for Civil Defence supplies.

Is Belmont Primary School represented in outside sports?

Yes - This year we have 4 teams represented in Netball, 2 teams in Flippaball and 2 teams in Basketball competitions. Children also represent the school in Inter-School activities such as Cross Country, Soccer, Swimming and BP Science Challenge.
